EPDM Ranks No. 1 in
New Construction and Reroofing Sales EPDM
Is Once Again the Preferred Roofing Membrane
Alexandria, Va. (May 20, 2003)
For the fifth year in a row, EPDM roofing membrane
held the No. 1 ranking in low-slope roofing’s new construction
and reroofing sales in 2002, according to the National Roofing Contractors
Association’s (NRCA) 2002-2003 annual market survey.
“Our goal is to continue to provide the
highest quality roofing material to meet the needs of architects,
roofing consultants, roof contractors and building owners all over
the country, and this ranking is a positive validation that we are
achieving that goal,” said Tom Hutchinson, the EPDM Roofing
Association’s director of technical services. “Because
these individuals value EPDM’s proven track record of longevity,
durability and overall system performance, EPDM continues to be
the preferred roofing membrane.”
William Seppala, president of Prime Roofing Corp.,
New Ipswich, N.H. said, “Over the past 20 years, my company
has laid down more than 60 million square feet of EPDM. We continue
to see more profits because our outstanding work with EPDM has general
contractors and building owners calling us for more work, or referring
us for other roofing projects.”
Questionnaires were sent to 2,043 NRCA members
and 2,058 nonmembers. The Gary Siegel Organization, a Chicago-based
independent opinion research firm, conducted the study.
The EPDM Roofing Association (ERA) is the first trade association solely representing the manufacturers of EPDM single-ply roofing products and their leading suppliers. ERA provides technical and research support to the public and the construction industry, and communicates the longstanding attributes, consistency and the value proposition of EPDM rubber membrane roofing materials.
